Registration not required, but encouraged and some activities will require signing up ahead of time.

The event will welcome the public, especially Indigenous families and families of color from underserved communities across Massachusetts and Rhode Island for a day of accessible outdoor activities, cultural sharing, and connection to land. Participants will move through a variety of experiences led by Indigenous instructors and local partners, including:

  • Horseback Riding – Guided nature rides through the Grafton Land Trust trails with Ridge Valley Stables. Pony rides for kids.
  • Archery & Fishing – Instruction by Chief Wompsikuk, teaching traditional hunting and gathering practices that center patience, balance, and respect for nature.
  • Forest Therapy Walks – Two two-hour guided sessions led by Andrea Jaramillo, a certified forest therapy practitioner (www.forestnurse.com), focused on mindfulness and ecological healing.
  • Garden Walks & Food Forest Education – Led by Ulum Pixan, exploring Indigenous agricultural systems, seed sovereignty, and food as medicine.
  • Tractor Rides & Farm Exploration – Led by Matt Feinstein, introducing participants to cooperative farming, compost and land stewardship.

Community Meal – A shared meal featuring locally grown and Indigenous-inspired foods to foster connection, cultural exchange, and celebration. During the meal there will be Traditional Drumming & Singing – Led by Chief Suki Wompsikuk (Black Eagle), honoring ancestral practices that connect rhythm, land, and spirit.
