Beginner farmer support program
A free four month cohort program centering BIPOC beginning farmers (urban and rural).
Fall 2023
Most sessions will be online. If possible, we will do 1-2 in person events in Central Massachusetts with virtual participation options.
Classes, tools and other offerings including:
- Business Plan Support
- Building Your Market
- Designing Your Governance
- Fundraising Assistance
- Mentorship
Taught by Global Village Farms staff and regional partners.
With support from USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture’s (NIFA) Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program
Any beginning farmer may apply. Priorities will be given to:
- Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) and immigrant / migrant people
- People living in New England
- Individuals and groups interested in implementing cooperative business structures
